Fox - Cape

The Cape Fox (Vulpes chama) is the only true fox and the smallest canid found in South Africa. It is silver-grey in colour with large pointed ears. They have a dark colouring around the mouth. These little foxes are remarkably agile, using their bushy tails as a counterbalance when dodging and weaving. The Cape Fox preys on insects, mice and other small animals, and occasionally wild fruit.

BREEDING SEASON: OCTOBER TO JANUARY
